Murphy Development has completed a $17.7 million, 121,970square-foot speculative industrial building at the Siempre Viva Business Park in Otay Mesa.

Building 18 at 2600 Melksee St. features a 32-foot minimum clear height designed for distribution users. Lusardi Construction was the contractor. It is the first such building completed in Otay Mesa since 2006, Murphy said. No tenants have been announced for the building.

Meanwhile, Murphy announced plans to start construction on Building 17, a 79,050square-foot project at 8500 Kerns St. Completion is expected by the end of the year.

Also under way is Murphy’s million-square-foot Brown Field Technology Park with grading and storm drain systems complete. A 126,000-square-foot building is planned for completion next summer, and up to seven additional buildings are planned on the 50-acre site ranging from 75,000 to 500,000 square feet each.
