Director of Property Management
Beatriz Lopez joined Murphy Development Company in 2001 as a property manager. During her tenure with the company, Ms. Lopez’ role has expanded to include accounting and office management where she is responsible for the day to day office operations as well as coordination of special projects related to development and construction.
Ms. Lopez began her career in the late 80’s working for Community Corporation of Santa Monica, a nonprofit affordable housing organization in her home town. It is there where she developed an interest in real estate development and management.
Ms. Lopez studied accounting and business management at West Los Angeles College before relocating to San Diego in 1992 where she transitioned into commercial real estate. Ms. Lopez worked at Grubb and Ellis, Walters Management Company and Spectrum Property Management primarily as a property management accountant in charge of property portfolios that included commercial, industrial, residential real estate and ownership associations in the San Diego and Inland Empire markets. Ms. Lopez’ experience includes budget preparation and analysis, financial statement preparation, cash flow management, and trust account cash management and her knowledge and high proficiency with accounting software packages has enabled her to implement various accounting software conversions.
Ms. Lopez has been a notary in the State of California since 1998. She is actively involved with Elderhelp of San Diego, a volunteer organization serving senior citizens in her community.
