The San Diego Business Park was Murphy Development’s first San Diego project, and was the first Class A corporate business park development in Otay Mesa.
Murphy Development successfully entitled the 80 acre site, which it purchased as unentitled raw land. Murphy’s pioneering vision for Otay Mesa as San Diego’s most dynamic industrial growth area commenced with the master-planning and development of 1.3 million square feet of corporate industrial product, including build-to-suits for Fortune 500 companies Sanyo, Casio and American Home Products. Buildings were successfully leased on a speculative basis to Maxell America, Hitachi Transport, Electrolux and Nippon Seiko.
